Scanners, Wi-Fi and WMS connectivity that hold up on the floor.
A warehouse Wi-Fi network is not the same as an office network. Inventory control depends on scanners that never drop connection, and a dropped scan means a missing stock record. We design and support warehouse networks for NSW logistics businesses.
A warehouse in NSW is a hostile environment for wireless. Rack heights create dead zones, metal shelving absorbs signal, scanners move between zones, and inventory control depends on a scan registering the moment the beam crosses the barcode. An office network design does not work in a warehouse. We design warehouse networks differently.
We walk the aisles with a spectrum analyser, at the height of the scanners, not at desk height. We map coverage at ground level, at pick-face level and at rack-top level. We identify sources of interference: forklift radio, metal shelving, roll-up doors.
Access points are mounted on the rack frames, not on the ceiling, and they are placed to carry client density at the pick face. We do not position them for visual neatness. We position them for scan reliability.
RF scanners and warehouse tablets are managed through a mobile device management platform. We push the inventory management app, configure the wireless profile, and wipe devices remotely if they are lost. A scanner that walks out of the warehouse should not take your inventory data with it.
The warehouse management system expects a scan to register in under a second. We prioritise wireless traffic for scanners over guest Wi-Fi, and we monitor scan success rates. A scan that fails means a stock record that is wrong, and a stock record that is wrong means a shipment that cannot leave the dock.
We will survey the floor and design a wireless network that holds up.
